You may want to consider lowering your deductible, to $250 for example. I am certain it will be less than what you've paid already.

It might only be an extra $5-10 a month which would be cheaper including using the $250 deductible once per year every year versus buying one windshield out of pocket.

$310-$370 versus $500? $600? You might be able to get 2 each year if they're over $600 each.

I believe that windshield replacement will NOT affect your insurance rate. They can claim all they want that it won't raise your rate, but it doesn't mean they won't anyway and simply not say that was the reason. But supposedly it doesn't affect it.
