Not gonna happen. Unless we're talking premium segment in the current $50k+ range.
One must understand that in the 80s-90s there was a large and pretty prosperous middle-class of baby-boomers that could afford a fun car. Not any more and I expect this to remain a niche car, with at most/best one other manufacturer offering something comparable in spirit.
