I read that randy pobst ran the BRZ long term test car at Laguna and there was a debate about the auto, they found a auto BRZ and he ran that.. It was a different day and the weather was a bit cooler, but was a tenth faster in the auto... Again.. He said it was most likely the climate.. I'll dig up that Facebook post.. It's a few months old but I'll find it..
Gotta remember after launching.. You don't have to worry about a mis shift, a botched downshift, a missed heal toe, and the gear ratio is almost the same.. Better through the corners if you have to shift as there is no weight transfer.. You knock the auto, but it will surprise you
