As good as the auto is, its complexity might be a problem in the future. Where as the manual is just refined bricks and mortar. so to speak.

yes! this CAN be done,however it's aggravating in traffic,but it cuts down on the engagement of the "throw-out" bearing over time,which may,or may not be an issue,as they are designed to last for a long time anyway.
