If the dome light works fine with the door open, then it is your tap, or the wire running from the tap, or the connector at the switch.

ok ill test that out this weekend. just out of curiousity tho. since it sends the door signal too the door lights and i have the kit that has the wires runnin from dome to floors, why can i get the door signal from that wire since i know it clearly has power when the door is open
