I don't miss the sound tube at all. The idea of removing a few pounds of excess piping makes it easier to dimiss. The intake sound does compensate for it. It makes a snarling sound similar to the red TRD sound changer I had on my sound generator, just a bit more muffled/less direct. Oh yeah, that's another thing. Seems like it has a slight raspy growl whereas my Takeda was a [louder] continuous boom.
