People have sucked in towels and rags MANY times. Rags usually jam intake valves open, but paper towels seem to just burn up and cause no real harm.
If the car runs properly and has good compression in all cylinders I would not worry about it.

Well, you were right! Here it is, the whole stinking thing... The whole time, on my damned skidplate. There's nothing in my engine... SOo happy!
Must have been warm and sticky when I parked it last night, then dried up and fell off overnight or right when I started it.
