The difference in power is not going to be anything like as apparent as the difference in weight!

I haven't made the switch from my (stock) S2000 yet, but I do go back and forth between that car and a ~530hp V8 RX-7. On the street, I don't miss the RX-7's power that much when I'm in the S2k, because I drive pretty sanely on the street.
The 550i is more like 3950lbs without my fat ass. I calculate Lbs/HP at 11.5 for the 550i and 14.8 for the 86, including my fat ass. That, of course, doesn't tell the real story of big V8 vs small flat 4 power delivery.

I like the idea of a V8 RX-7, but I just don't want the likely headaches of a hybrid car. If I were to drop an LS into any car, it would be a 911 996 with AWD.

I'm totally happy at the moment with the 86's power. I know in the long term I'll do something to it, but I'm not sure what. The Full Blown Stage 2 sounds amazing and, with a proper tune, could be perfectly drivable. The Vortech looks wonderfully drivable and suits the car, but ruins economy. The other turbo kits are looking a bit tame right now. I'll have to wait a year or two until we see how the car reacts to cams, more intakes come out, and people have sorted out the headers, exhaust, and tune.
