Depending on what year S2000 you are considering will change the price point drastically.
I noticed that a lot of people on this forum have owned a lot of the same cars. MR2 Turbo, S2000, and any form of Honda/Acura 4banger. Like minded car nuts that prefer handling and a connection to their car more than all-out power. Nonetheless, most of us have modded those 4bangers to get more power in some shape or form even though it was not the primary concern when purchasing our vehicle. FUN seems to be the primary concern for most.
One of the articles about the BRZ/FT86/FRS a writer remarked that the prototype/test-mule felt sluggish getting up a hill. That would annoy me. My MR2 Turbo the turbo kicked in, my Civic Si and in my S2000 the VTEC punches me up the hill and that was one of the FUN parts of owning those cars. I have never owned an N/A Impreza for comparison. Does the BOXER 4 have anything to kick in and bush us up a hill or an on ramp?

That's because you was revving the shit out of those cars you own since V-TEC engages over 6-7k rpms. Your cars would feel weak and sluggish except for the MR2 Turbo up a hill with moderate acceleration(3-4k rpms). I'm pretty sure they wasn't revving it really hard up a hill.
