All finishes will fade or chip over time. This is simply nature trying to do its natural thing.

If you track, you can't expect your lug nuts to look perfect. We have our own lug nuts that utilizes Type III anodized, which is the thickest specified anodized layer you can get. It's also made from forged Aluminum 7075-T6 so it's extremely light and strong. Obviously, aluminum has its limitations if you force it to do what it's not engineered/designed to do.
