That is ONE definition but if you had of spent more time before copy and pasting that you would have seen that it can mean many different things depending on the context of the investment and what you hope to return from said investment.

Cars are investments, they do have returns that are not always measured in income, interest or appreciation in terms of currency but can have other returns.
You do yourself no justice thinking of things in base terms just to prove your point :/.
