The wastegate or the blow off valve?
I think your talking about the blow off valve because you sure as heck don't need a 12psi spring to keep a wastegate shut at idle...
Not trying to rub salt on your wounds or anything, i know how much is sucks when things go sideways like this, but you really should not have gotten in boost at all without a wideband and boost gauge installed so that you could verify everything was green. I'm sure you won't make that mistake a second time though and I hope you get everything sorted out quickly and with the least expense possible.
