Now I am very confused. If your car is a US spec, then there should definitely be a thinner box than the ECU mounted in that same area with three connectors going into it. I can tell you that on my car it mounts to the dash frame with a bolt that is best accessed with the panel on the side of the dash removed (this panel is covered by the door when the door is closed). When you pull the panel off, you will see a 10mm head bolt for the mounting bracket of the certification ECU box. I can probably snap a pic tonight to show exactly where I tapped in for RPM.
