Hmm, I'd say its a toss-up, as it all depends on how Toyota markets the car over here through shows. The FT's styling would definitely attract the younger market, in large doses. If it gets some face time at large car shows around America (like I unno, NOPI?...I tend not to go to those things) then you basically pre-game your market into buying the car.
Toyota's (rather, Scion's) motivations and decision making might also be affected by the fact that a good majority of Scion buyers aren't actually in the "young adult" bracket, rather, middle-aged with steady incomes.
Its just an objective approach. When it comes to trying to figure out what Toyota will do with this car, ya gotta take off your enthusiast cap and put on your business-man suit....cap.
Still, it'll be hard for them to pass off the "high performance" model, which will probably reach upwards of $27k, as a Scion.
