I do not get shifter shake from the motor in my MR-S but it is a cable shifter link to the transaxle much like most FWD cars.
That sounds about right from what I've been told. It makes you wonder why they don't all use the "older/inferior" shifters.

Clearly it more accurately defines progress and the goal of all car companies efforts to tame noise, vibration and harshness(NVH).

Still love the car.
