If the Tirerack specs are accurate, the Italian made 225/40R18 Pirelli PZero is a freak of a tyre. At 9.4" tread width on the recommended 8" wide wheel, it puts more rubber on the road than the 235, 245, 255 and 275 PZero (all on wider wheels). The 265 PZero is an unremarkable 2 or 3mm wider (on a 9.5" wide wheel).

I'm not saying they did, but if you were going to pick a size to ensure a PZero win - this is it.
