it's fairly common practice to upgrade fuel pump wiring when you upgrade to a high amperage aftermarket pump.

You just run a new ignition switched power feed to a normal automotive relay, then use the factory fuel pump power wire as the trigger for the relay. The new ignition feed is then passed through to your walbro/bosch/denso/dw or whatever pump that requires extra amps to operate at it's intended capacity.

With the noisy walbro's and external bosh pumps, you can hear when they slow down due to overheating the stock loom.
