No they didn't.
Right now you can buy new FR-S's for $1000 under MSRP or more in the right states(think snow). I just looked last night on auto Trader after someone said their state was selling BRZ's for at or below invoice.
The state in question also was a car tax free state, so it was not MSRP and zero taxes

I paid MSRP unfortunately, + actual TT&L rather than inflated incorrect math numbers, and $123 additional bullshit fees that were take it or leave it because of Pure Filth, I mean Pure Price.
If Texas were a snow state I'd have waived that $123 bullshit fee/s.
