It should be okay as long it stays in a dry environment. It isn't as bad as I may have made it out to be. Salt water is what accelerates the process. Robi is from Socal, you are in Australia, whereas I'm from Chicago so the operating environments are completely different. This is why I'm extra nitpicky. Zinc plating the steel and anodizing the aluminum also reduces the electrochemical voltage dramatically.
