As for the dated technology comment above, the V1 now has the new V1 connection Bluetooth app for Android.. This new app/dongle combo allows custom profile sweeps (increased detection w/less falses) and additional visual tools to filter out junk signals.. V1 is staying at the front of radar tech in 2013.

As for the bluetooth smartphone app, I guess it appeals to some people but it is not for me. With my luck the phone will freeze just as I'm cresting a hill and getting nailed by a state trooper! Call me old fashioned, but there are some things my cellphone does NOT need to do.

mounting the v1 on the passenger visor eliminates any tell-tale suction cup marks on the wind screen. this is helpful,because any asshole thinkin' about smashin' and grabbin' wont know there is a detector in the car,because they wont see the cup marks,assuming ,of course one locks it in the glove box.
