I can understand the argument that aesthetically it is rather plain looking, but to call it outdated is a stretch. Any V1 owner will tell you, the upgrade process is very easy. Rather than having to buy an entirely new detector, these units stay alive for years and years and years as technology evolves. That cannot be said for the majority of windshield electronics on the market.
Thanks and yeah, I got a lesson in radar this weekend reading.

Friends had the V1 for years too.

The V1 app looks ok, a bit to much data and is not/cant be used wile Navigating and their system (hardware) is bulky and not particularly discreet. Many of the others aren't either but theirs isn't even trying.
The GPS and network system Escort is putting together is awesome really! That's the future!!

I want more of a discreet install, i'll likely leave the unit in place and id go for a permanent install but I have 3 cars and the cost is high. Not worried about it being stolen, have mostly private locations the car will sit.

The escort Smart Radar seems best; very discreet box and utilizes the App which is the best ive seen. Map overlays, real-time connection and everything is in the unit with a small remote display box that most users wont even use in lieu of the app. Easy to install in multiple cars. But again, its VERY discreet.

That pic of the V1 hanging from the rearview can be seen by anyone including police! That wont cut it, NOT discreet!

Im sorry but I see people driving like that and its so damn obvious! Might as well have a sign on the back of my car that says "im a speeder"
I drive allot and im on all different roads and pass through situations where it may not be best to advertise. I don't know, maybe im wrong.

Why no comments on the K40.
