Worst case scenario, disconnect it and put it in your glovebox while on base? That's what we were instructed to do if we had radar detectors. A coworker had a random inspection at the gates (aka make you late for work inspection) and wasn't hassled about his radar detector in his glovebox.

I depend on my radar detector almost every day, I would feel naked without it.
