I attempted to do it once, but found the 14mm (or was it 13mm) wrench I had was too long to let me do it... then I decided to leave it be and learn to shift/clutch with it as it was... the higher engagement point lets me just quickly stab the clutch when making shifts, in theory making the shifts faster.
But yeah climbing down there is a bit awkward... I almost got stuck down there and took some effort to get myself back out.
