That is true.. I had a long post written up and hit post and then found the server was changing lol.
It included that bit.. anyways...
For all of those that want a flat and fair tax though, that's it. The poor pay the same percentage as the rich. That's truely fair. And that's my problem with a single high sales tax at this point in time with our current financial situation... not that I don't think the poor should pay taxes when 50% of the country doesn't.. they should and that's part of the problem, but I still believe that the rich should pay more as they currently do. I don't believe that they should pay even more than they do now though. I also think that they should pay more for now, but not forever. A flat tax (income or otherwise) should be implemented but first we need to cut spending and get our finances in order before going to that level. Yes, it is unfair towards the rich in the meantime but.. I just don't see a way around that until this country makes it's debt managable.
The end is always the same, the ONLY way to fix our problems is to SPEND LESS MONEY. Same as if you are living paycheck to paycheck while buying $6 starbucks coffees.. SPEND LESS MONEY.
Remove all deductions, keep the current tax rate structure for now AND SPEND LESS MONEY.
