I saw a thread where UniChip was selling two different intakes that they said were used in developing tunes, so I would be led to believe that YES, they are developing tunes based on actual parts.

But you are correct that not every car will act the exactly same. I would imagine that there is some factor of safety built into UniChip tunes just for that reason. I'm a fan of safety, but obviously that means it would not be tweaked to full potential. A personalized Ecutek tune should perform better than a "one size fits all with this parts combo" tune.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm interested in both, but haven't decided how I'm going forward with my car yet.
