Knocking sounds from lowering springs?

I recently installed Mach V lowering springs on my Fr-s. Ever since, I've been getting some relatively loud knocking noises whenever I go over uneven ground or bumps. The car seems to drive fine but the noises definitely raise suspicion since the car has only been dropped an inch. Most of the noises seem to be coming from the front, right strut but its hard to be certain.

I haven't trimmed my bumpstop yet. Mach V recommends that users trim the OEM bumpstop by 1 inch. Could this be the problem? I don't want to trim the bumpstop since I may have to return to the stock springs.

This is how front spring sits with the wheel on the ground. Should the fact that the top coils touch raise any concerns?
