Your in the minority... nearly 80% of the people on Gencoupe forum voted that they dislike the new front end. I think it's one of the worst redesigns I've ever seen. The fake plastic hood scoops are embarrassing! The new tail lights are beautiful though and I like most of the interior redesign. Hopefully they use higher grade leather and a better transmission for 2013.
The 2013 front bumper SCREAMS Elantra+Mazda 3 and that is NOT a good thing.
I've driven 5 GCs, all three model years. The 2010 is a shit-box: Overall reliability is bad and the first years Manual transmissions were plagued with 4th and 5th gear grinds. The sunroof had issues and I noticed a lot of squeaks and rattles. The front door speakers in particular. I couldn't believe how much better the M6 in the 2011 felt, I thought I was driving a different car! The 2012 was also very solid with fewer quality control issue "noises".
The 2013 should be a a substantial improvement, Hyundai does listen to customer feedback. They put the engine we want in the 2.0T and fixed interior issues like the seatbelt holder. I just wish they put the Vega bumper on the 2013 with the new headlights and didn't include cheesy fake hood scoops. It screams low rent!
