I personally think they are only acceptable if you stance them out on bags with tasteful wheels and perhaps an aggressive aero kit. Otherwise the aura of uncool will ultimately turn you into a square, for which there is no cure.
You will begin to like your minivan, and begin using phrases like "grounded to the ground".

Anyone who buys a minivan and tries to make it "cool" is missing the point. You buy a minivan for REAL utility - unlike Stupid User Vehicles a van is infinitely more useful when you have carseats (which have ballooned in size in the past 10 years), want to haul stuff around (I've fit over 30 bags of mulch and soil in ours with the second row out, plus 10 foot 4x4 beams with the tail closed), and care about keeping your kids safe. Only reason to buy a SUV is if you tow or drive offroad (I can't believe anyone with an FR-S/BRZ believes in the myth of 4x4 or AWD helping on pavement in normal driving conditions).
Do I wish our Odyssey transmitted an iota of steering feel? Yes. But my kids are much more important to me than steering feel - and a lot more fun to be with than the return from driving a car seat carrier.
I'm proud to drive my Ody around when I'm hauling stuff. And proud to drive my FR-S when I'm just hauling my rear-end (or also one passenger - which has been a car seat and child fairly occasionally).
