The car is racing in the US so I think it HAS to be on sale in the US per the rules of the sanctioning body.
They are running an FR-S, meaning they have to sell it for the FR-S. GT-86 ≠ FR-S in this case.
They can still charge whatever the fuck they want and it doesn't have to be CARB (Cali) legal.
