My insurance company wanted me to bring it to one of their recommended body shops but I said I'd rather have the dealership do everything. I was notified that I may have to do a bit more paper work during the payment and there may be delays (apparently body shops will release the car before they receive payment as they know insurance has a check in the mail for them, but dealerships will hang on to it until it's paid in full), but that didn't worry me. Having parts from the source puts me at ease, and that way there's no chance of issues with my warranty in the future.

I was told that for the body work alone (the stuff that didn't need replacing), it would be $1100. And then there's the interior, replacing the stripping around the window, the missing hardware under the hood, replacing the key locks and reflashing the keyless entry, replacing the wheel locks, labor, etc.

I keep getting different answers from the insurance company depending on who I talk to, but it sounds like most of the key replacement and wheel lock replacement cost will apparently be covered as well. The agent gave me the impression that my wheel locks will be covered only because it was an option from the dealership and had I installed them myself, I would have been SOL.

I never realized how much I've started to depend on my car until now :P.
