The cable is 169 retail. The software is 199... there is no license to buy. So the entry point is $368 plus the tune... unless the tune costs $500 your still a good bit lower than EcuTek.

Or wait two more years, spend 169 for a cable, use whatever opensource software develops support, and either tune it yourself or buy a tune.

I think you will start to see some hardware vendors providing base maps setup to work with their parts combinations before too long. The Entry point price for the pro version is low enough for them to make the maps available for a very minimal fee and again, there is no license to deal with.
