TMI, right?! That site has become way too bloated of late with all those threads. I saw a post where CATERHAM could not find something he had posted earlier so he could reference what he had already said on a subject. No way to search the site unless you join to login so they end up with too many new ppl on there methinks.

LOL. What?? You did not go with the tried and true German Castrol...."GC"?? I saw a recent post where Castrol has a new 0W-40 made in Belguim so, they now have a "BC" designation to refer to in the posts! Thus, I might have to try the BC 0W-40 in the VW CC cause the HTHS viscosity meets the new European manufacturer specifications on the new ILSAC GF-5 and API SN industry specification oil better than the current EM "Exxon/Mobil" 0W-40!!! Ugh!!

Yeah, @johatan25, you got to use a "decoder ring" to figure out what they are talking about on that website!!!

Anyway, check this out: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/motor-oil-101/

Its a long read but, if you are interested in some of the science regarding engine lubrication, terminology, misconceptions and differences in motor oils, it's good stuff. FYI.
