Just a few questions to all:
1. When/what milage did you drain the factory fill oil?
2. What oil viscosity do you use? 0w-20, 5w-30, etc.
3. The first free 1,000kms check up from the dealer, what did they do? does this include changing the oil? toyota only offers the f.f. 20w-50 regular, 15w-50 semi, and 5w-40 syn. i think this is too thick.
4. People with M/T, did you already change your fluid? hows the 1-2 cold shifting? still hard/notchy?
Hi Victor.. lemme answer some of your Q kase bagong change oil ako last months sa casa

1. When/what milage did you drain the factory fill oil?
1,000 km++ when i had my 1st change oil

2. What oil viscosity do you use? 0w-20, 5w-30, etc.
since 0w-20 is not accessible sa casa, they have an alternative which can be used for our 86.. i also checked the manual and it is also stated dun we can also use this in our road condition(i.e temperature)

3. The first free 1,000kms check up from the dealer, what did they do? does this include changing the oil? toyota only offers the f.f. 20w-50 regular, 15w-50 semi, and 5w-40 syn. i think this is too thick.
what is free is just the labor pero not sa parts... kala ko nga rin libre eh kase free daw hahaha.. forgot how much exactly the oil and oil filter costs basta 3k++ nabayaran ko kase 5Liters yung needed oil sa engine and had to buy 2 4Liter cans..

what they did? well funny thing Toyota had to lift up and down the car 4x.. i asked them ano hinahanap nila, sabi nla d daw nila makita yung oil filter. i dont blame them though kase sa lahat ng bumili ng 86 sa cebu, ako palang daw nag paservice ng 1st 1,000km(yung isa kasi they just had to change the tail lights for condensation.issues) i dont know if they had any training kase pati yung head mechanic d din alam saan and also dont know how much quantity of oil to be used.. so i had to point them to the right direction

4. People with M/T, did you already change your fluid? hows the 1-2 cold shifting? still hard/notchy?
yup stayed with the same fluid and yup, it's still notchy at cold temps.. i've read here changing the tranny fluid would help a bit pero didnt bother doing so kase i've found out that by shifting at a higher rpm around 3,500rpm from 1st to 2nd @ cold temps, the clonk is not there. ganun din kase experience ko from my previous cars.. but when everything is up to operating temperature, ayos naman na..

hoped i've help you with your questions papa
