How were you able to reproduce the noise? By pressing the spot with your thumb? Or grabbing something and push/pull around?

Laying down in the trunk (with the seats folded down) and looking up, there's only a few spots on the parcel shelf you can get enough of your hand into to pull/push it. When doing so, I was able to reproduce the sound and eventually pinpoint it to this area.
I probably could have figured this out faster if I laid back there while someone drove my car, but then I would have had to let someone else drive my car
