I have a late model nsx, and plan on buying a BRZ as well. I just test drove an FRS and was a bit disappointed by the lack of power. But I'm okay with it since it will be my daily driver. I'm actually thinking it's a bit silly for me to own two cars that are so similar!
Considering you have a baby on the way, I don't know how you will manage with just an NSX. If you eventually put the kid in daycare, you will need a different car unless your wife is going to pickup/dropoff the kid everyday. There is no airbag disabling feature on the NSX, so your only option is to do a custom electronic bypass of it.(not sure how safe that is) I have a WRX wagon and old Supra as my current DDs.
Aside from the clutch and timing belt, the repair costs are so minimal on the NSX. That this point, a NSX in good condition is no longer depreciating either. Anyone who thinks the NSX is expensive to maintain has never owned a Porsche or Fcar.
