What is rattling in there? I don't know. Can it be fixed? I don't know! My plan is to take it apart and take a look, but I am not really sure what to look for I guess. Some folks have said that it is a tolerance issue between the collar and the lever itself. If that's the case, a little bit of teflon sheet should solve that. If it's the spring inside that canister I think it could be a much more difficult remedy though, and I have not seen any good diagrams of that.
PS, if anyone has a cross-section of that... please cough it up

how did you go with shifter rattle? did you investigate?
