Oh, if it's a 2200-pound car in production version, then I'd be all for it-however, you've got to have noticed the large use of carbon fiber in this car that have to be taken out if Toyota wants to hit sub---$30-40k. I'd imagine that this car in production specs will end up slightly lighter than the Scion tC (the so-called compact coupe that weighs in at slightly under 3,000 pounds).
Purely from an engineering standpoint, this car seems more like a blend of the Genesis Coupe and the 370Z. It has quite a few design cues taken directly out of the Nissan stable (if you don't believe me, look at the roof line of the GT-R and the 370Z and then look at this), but with a price point around that of the Genesis coupe's lower end.
What I'd honestly love is for this car to become the Supra descendent it should be. Leave the I-4 as a base engine and come up with a worthy descendent of the legendary 2JZ-GTE found in the Mk.4 Supra.
Finally, I'd like to point out that a $22k price isn't all that far off the 370Z's price either. MSRP on a stock 370 is slightly under $30 grand-for that 8k, you get way more horsepower in a slightly heavier package.
