Being someone who used his bike as his dd for quite a while, I highly.... don't recommend it. Even as great as the gas is, there's nothing worse than having to freeze to death or get soaked in a shower to/from work. It isn't fun sitting in the middle of a thunderstorm at a stoplight because you HAVE to be somewhere - if it's your dd though, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I drove my bike every-single-day, right up to the point where I saw a guy I knew get killed on one. Haven't touched it since (that's beside the point) - But they aren't good to rely on as your only vehicle.

I had several modded turbo cars as dailys and I always ran into issues and ALWAYS regretted it. WRXs will require more maintenance and upkeep than most cars and the RX-8 will most likely always require you to have a few extra qts of oil in the car with you at all times, and be ready to spend a good bit of $ on gas for it. Get something fun and cheap that you can still enjoy. Something simple, like an S13/14 240sx. Decent on gas, and practical (not a miata or mr2) - Soon you will find other aggravations with a two seater as a dd. Then save up and get you a fun car that you REALLY want. OR have the simple dd, AND get a bike.

Anyway, this is just advice from someone who has been in a similar situation before. Good luck! You'll figure it out!
