Not trying to be a downer, but just based on what I've seen out of the car industry in the last 10 years, I don't think they'll ever fix it...why?
-They only recall things once it's caused a few accidents (or fires) or causes enough cars to fail that it's not a coincidence.
example: Nissan 350z - first gen engine overheat/oil consumption with "Spirited" driving. What did they do? TSB... A few warranty repairs then a new engine design 3 years later.
example: RX-8 First gen engine issues. Response? nothing for about 5 years, then they retroactively replaced failed engines in a recall... Mind you, this is a problem that was causing
total failure of the engine...
Toyota/Subaru see: Annoying noise that doesn't affect reliability or performance and only occurs in select markets? What do you think the response will be?
Maybe, just maybe, a HPFP redesign rolled into some more serious changes 2-3 years down the line, but I'm betting people in 10 years will look back and say, "Don't get the 2013-2014 models, sound like a squirrel in a tub of crickets. 2015 models are great!"
I tried to convince myself that they might fix it in the next year then I'd be totally satisfied, but you all know damn well what potential buyers
look up in google when it comes time to sell these. Which is why I'm bailing while I still can
