The new FB engine which the FA engine is supposedly based on was designed for fuel economy. I don't see why this car with the FB based NA engine, DI, and RWD shouldn't get 30+ easily.
Subaru sells FWD overseas still, but they didn't go all AWD until '96, and the FWD versions with the EJ motors didn't get very good mileage either.

ANd yes, the FB was designed for fuel economy, but they modified it significantly for higher output. There is ZERO chance this motor will exceed the FB20's fuel economy. And none of the reviews/interviews so far have indicated this car with have such high MPG figures.
