it juste depends if the manufacturer has actually made calculations and testing for UEL. I'm just giving an example here, if you go twice as long on one side, you just have to tune the header so that the exhaust pulses that come from the longer side come in right behind the short side. once the engine starts up and has turned over more than 5 times, the pulses won't be delayed by the longer side. I don't see a big loss there if, as I said, research has been done.
I'm also not saying EL=UEL either, pretty sure a EL header will outperform UEL if both a well researched, but it aint like the UEL will be a horrible choice to make power wise.
