my 17x9 with 245/40/17 RS3 are just a touch heavier then stock and on a 0-60 run the extra grip will make you faster over the loss in un-sprung weight. It matches stock hight so you don't lose any accelration due to taller gearing.

Thank you! This is the type of answer I was looking for. You are right, they are not 120-130 hp cars, which would drag more with added width than our twins do.
