Anybody who has tried to buy a car in Japan would know this;Japan offers so much options, not to mention more freedom in option selections.

Since I would want this car in the base trim and I'm wondering the HID option will be offered as an add-on for the scion model. (For reference, the HID option usually comes as a single option regardless of the trim level for most cars in Japan.)

Looking at the Scion's current "single base trim" offering, it may be feasible. However, the US versions generally have tendency to offer the HIDs for higher package cars and do not allow a buyer to choose the option without paying the premium.

So, I'm not sure. I hope I can choose the HID option as a single exterior option.
