For actual fuel economy comparison:
The spec sheet gives the Miata 11.8 L/km, or 27.8 mpg, the EPA gives the Miata 28mpg highway, 24 mpg combined.
RX-8 is listed at 22mpg, 23mpg highway by the EPA.
If the heavier and more powerful FRS is actually more efficient than the already frugal for a sports car MX-5 (as the spec sheet claims), I'll be really impressed.
