Me dear ol pops daily drives a HHR. Also has a '84 ford F150 w I6 for home depot runs.. and when the weather is nice he's usually found on the Duc (ST3) Or not found at all because he's out tearing up the twisties with guys my age lol (Pop turned 60 this year)

Its funny that he now drives a domestic version of a pot belly pig on wheels considering that before I was around he had a number of spitfires and a Opel GT (wrecked that one.. wrecked it GOOD. Ol man is really lucky he walked away). Once I was around there were a bunch of air cooled VW's (all type 3's.. every type 1 he came across he sold. Didn't like driving beetles I guess lol) in '88 he leased a CRX new.. drove the nuts off it and turned it back in. Then he was back to a aircooled chassis again, this time with a Bradley GTII kit on it. That he ran while I was in Jr High and first couple years of HS ( I LOVED riding in that car.. if ya think the FRS is low.. ya gots no Idea lol)

Then the domestic shift happened. After the bradley experiment he got a older Dakota pickup..at same time I was getting into 4x4's pretty deep. I Ran a lifted XJ cherokee after highschool that my father really took a liking to. Esp while I was in the army and he had my Jeep to drive daily. So then once I come back stateside and take my truck back he buys an XJ of his own and runs it for a few years (sister killed it with a concrete abutment.. walked away without a scratch, twisted the truck like a pretzel) then he runs through a couple grand cherokee's. Trades his last grand cherokee in on a then brand new Honda Fit (aprox 2007ish) Traded that for the HHR in early 2010.. and that brings us current.

So I still find it odd that a man who used to love to drive little darty fun cars slides into the soft cushy realm of domestic sloppiness.

Seriously hope I dont follow that pattern. lol
