Windows 8 32-Bit doesn't have HyperTerminal so I ended up using an old copy of SecureCRT. It was enough for me to enter the commands to see what's programmed, to change it, to verify it, and see enough - on one line. Couldn't figure out the ASCII feed lines equivalent, but I got the job done!

More of a "why" question than anything else. I was able to program it via the old cable without issues. However, for those just with the Flux2 kit and the Flux2 download cable - I'd wonder if that would work like the other cable because the other cable has an ON/OFF switch. I entirely like having to program stuff in the car as I've stowed the USB cable hidden under a center console panel and when I need to use it, I just quickly fish it out.

Regarding #2 and in reading the Flux2 install guide, the in car USB cable is used for programming the names only. The separate usb cable with on off switch programs the Unichip plugged direct. Therefore what I did is right.
