I am assuming you are running a passive crossover?
and was the JL set originally a 3 way set?
i would try playing with the EQ on the headunit first if it has one, try and bump up the frequency's around 300-800hz
If you are already running JL speakers, i would stick with them rather than going the Focal,

The tonality of the Focals may not go well with the JL's,
Also, if the JL set you have is a 2 way system, you may need to get the 3 way passive crossover to drive them.
Unless you are wanting to run a full active 3 way front stage which even i am not game to try haha.
