My point about that is that a $2000 set of wheels with paint/finish damage won't be worth $2000 anymore. But a set of $750 wheels could still be worth $750 with paint damage.
So unless someone is a magician and can magically keep their expensive wheels in perfect condition for years while driving the car, you are just throwing your money away.
