I think i am going to do it with a soldering iron instead of a dremel so that i can keep the decorative trunk piece. There is another DIY on that a page after thi DIY, found them last night.

You have to be careful on the bottom once cutting. Also - cut at the bottom need to be around 1inch from the glass - other way it will be visible. You can cut with dremel to the point where you will not be able to reach this place under the decorative piece - and use solder to cut under the decorative piece. Thats what I did.
