Very true.

Improving the motor is easy to prove quantitatively(e.g. dyno graph). Its much harder to do with suspension, partially because at a fine level it really maters who is driving, and how you drive. Harder mounts, and other changes that increase the rigidity suspension or change the alignment under force are even suspect now that the original automotive engineers have simulators that can model the deformation of individual parts.

edit: What I'm trying to say is if you want to make it lower and stiffer BECAUSE RACECAR go for it. But you can't say everything is empirically better just because it's lower and stiffer

.
The FR-S spring differ slightly from the BRZ, we're set up for oversteer. The RCE's are a mild drop (0.8in) and while balancing the car out causing it to handle more like a BRZ.

Also everyone expects something different form the car, and everyone will find things they do not like. I am running wider, sticker tires. To me the amount of body roll is unacceptable, that's the beauty of these cars the aftermarket is there to cover down.

We have a saying in the medical world; " If a placebo works, it's not a placebo". So If I slap on coilovers and tun better times at an autocross event just because I am more confident in the car than so be it.

Just to clarify your edit comes off as slightly pompous, I won't dispute your knowledge on the subject because I don't know you. Hell for all I know you're an engineer with Toyota , that still doesn't make you omnipotent so keep it civil in the local thread ( and if that wasn't you're intent, my apologies)
